Kawartha Lakes is a city in central Ontario that covers a large geographic area made up of several towns, villages and rural communities. It was created through municipal amalgamation and includes many lakes, rivers and natural landscapes across the region.
The area is well known for its cottage communities, recreational waterways and tourism connected to the Trent–Severn Waterway system. Agriculture and local services also contribute to the regional economy.
