Established in 1978 and seeing its development conclude in the late 1990s, MacEwan Glen is nestled between major roadways, with Country Hills Boulevard to the north, 14 Street NW to the east, and Shaganappi Trail to the west. The southern boundary of the community opens up to the vast expanse of Nose Hill Park, a significant natural reserve within Calgary.
Named after John Walter Grant MacEwan, a former mayor of Calgary and Lieutenant Governor of Alberta, the community is a testament to his legacy. Today, MacEwan Glen is governed under the auspices of Calgary City Council, with representation by Jasmine Mian as the councillor for Ward 3.
