Rosedale is a charming residential neighbourhood nestled in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. Established in 1929 and annexed in 1907, Rosedale has grown into a vibrant community with a rich history and a promising future.

Location and Geography

Strategically located south of the Trans-Canada Highway, between 4th and 10th Street NW, Rosedale offers easy access to major roadways while retaining a peaceful atmosphere. The neighbourhood is bordered by McHugh Bluff Park to the south, providing residents with stunning views and ample green space for outdoor activities. Sunnyside, another Calgary community, is also situated to the south of Rosedale.

The 2012 municipal census reported a population of 1,569 living in 636 dwellings in Rosedale, showing a slight decrease of 1.4% from its 2011 population of 1,592. The neighbourhood spans an area of 0.7 km² (0.27 sq mi), resulting in a population density of 2,240/km² (5,800/sq mi).

Rosedale is a prosperous community, with residents enjoying a median household income of $78,067 as of 2000. Despite its wealth, the neighbourhood maintains a diverse demographic, with 14.7% of its residents being immigrants. The community has a mix of housing options, with 14.4% of buildings being condominiums or apartments, and 23.2% of the housing available for rent.
