Geographic Location

The coordinates for Deer Ridge are 50°55′35″N 114°00′51″W, placing it amidst natural beauty while still providing access to city amenities. The community is bordered by Canyon Meadows Drive to the north, Deercliff Road and the Bow River to the east, Deerfield Circle and the community of Deer Run to the south, and Bow Bottom Trail to the west. The adjacent Fish Creek Provincial Park enhances the area’s appeal. Deer Ridge is located at an elevation of 1,020 m (3,350 ft), providing residents with stunning views and a variety of outdoor recreational opportunities.

Covering an area of 2.0 km² (0.8 sq mi), Deer Ridge had a population of 4,344 according to the 2006 census. By the 2012 municipal census, the population had decreased slightly to 4,084 individuals living in 1,501 dwellings. The population density was recorded at 2,920/km² (7,560/sq mi).
