Woodlands is a serene residential community located in the southwest quadrant of Calgary, Alberta, framed by coordinates 50°56′29″N 114°06′32″W. The neighborhood boasts a desirable elevation of 1,070 meters, giving it a distinct position within the city.

Location

The area is outlined by Fish Creek Provincial Park to the south, offering a rich natural boundary. The western edge meets 24 Street SW, while Anderson Road SW defines the northern limit. To the east, the boundary is drawn by 14 Street SW. Within its confines lies the Canyon Meadows Golf course, a significant landscape feature.

Demographics

The 2012 municipal census recorded a steady population of 6,201 residents occupying 2,397 dwellings, maintaining the count from 2011. Covering a territory of 2.8 square kilometers, Woodlands has a population density of 2,210 individuals per square kilometer.

Education

Educational needs in Woodlands are met by several institutions. Woodlands Elementary School (CBE) serves the younger population, while William Roper Hull School caters to K-12 students with behavioral, emotional, social, and mental challenges through a collaboration between the CBE and Hull Services. The Tsuu T’Ina Bullhead Adult Education Centre is also located in Woodlands, adjacent to William Roper School, providing educational opportunities for the adult community.
