Saskatoon is the largest city in Saskatchewan and is located along the South Saskatchewan River in the central part of the province. The city developed as a railway and agricultural centre supporting farming communities across the Canadian Prairies.

The river divides the city into eastern and western sections connected by several bridges, giving Saskatoon its nickname “The City of Bridges.” Educational institutions such as the University of Saskatchewan contribute to the city’s research and academic environment.

Today Saskatoon serves as a major economic and cultural centre for Saskatchewan with industries including agriculture, mining and technology.
