Historical Background
The area that is now known as Montgomery was established as a community in 1911. In 1943, it was renamed in honor of Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, a renowned British military leader. Montgomery transitioned from a town to a village and was eventually incorporated into the City of Calgary through amalgamation on August 15, 1963.
