History
Southview holds the distinction of being the last community to develop inside the Greater Forest Lawn Area, making it a significant part of Calgary’s urban landscape. Additionally, it is part of the International Avenue Business Revitalization Zone, highlighting its importance in local commerce and development.

As of the City of Calgary’s 2012 municipal census, Southview had a population of 1,900 living in 936 dwellings, marking a -7.9% decrease from its 2011 population of 2,063. The neighborhood covers a land area of 1.6 km2 (0.62 sq mi), resulting in a population density of 1,190/km2 (3,080/sq mi).
