Lévis is a major city in Quebec located on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence River directly across from Québec City. The city forms part of the greater Québec City metropolitan area and is connected to the historic capital by bridges and ferry services across the river.
Lévis developed historically through maritime activity, shipbuilding and trade along the Saint Lawrence corridor.
