Milton is a fast-growing town in the province of Ontario located west of Toronto within the Regional Municipality of Halton. Over recent decades Milton has transformed from a small rural community into one of the fastest growing municipalities in Canada, largely due to its proximity to the Greater Toronto Area.
The town lies at the base of the Niagara Escarpment, a prominent geological formation that shapes the surrounding landscape. Natural areas, conservation parks and hiking trails are common in the region and provide opportunities for outdoor recreation close to the urban environment.
Milton continues to expand with new residential neighbourhoods, schools and commercial districts being developed as the population increases. Despite this growth the town still maintains strong connections to nearby farmland and natural landscapes.
