Temiskaming Shores is a city in northeastern Ontario located along the western shoreline of Lake Timiskaming near the border with Quebec. The municipality was formed through the amalgamation of several smaller communities including New Liskeard, Haileybury and Dymond, creating a larger regional centre in the Temiskaming District.
The region developed historically through agriculture, forestry and mining, which remain important components of the local economy. Fertile farmland in the surrounding Temiskaming Valley supports agricultural production, while nearby forests and mineral resources contribute to industrial activity.
The scenic location along Lake Timiskaming provides opportunities for boating, fishing and lakeside recreation. Today Temiskaming Shores functions as an administrative, commercial and cultural centre for northeastern Ontario’s rural communities.
