Yorkton is a city in eastern Saskatchewan located near the Manitoba border. The community developed during the late nineteenth century as railway lines expanded across the Canadian Prairies, helping establish Yorkton as an agricultural service centre.

The surrounding region is characterized by farmland producing grains and oilseeds, which continue to influence the local economy. Yorkton also supports regional trade, retail services and public institutions for communities across eastern Saskatchewan.
