Saint-Jérôme is a city in Quebec located north of Montréal within the Laurentides region. It serves as a gateway to the Laurentian Mountains and functions as a regional centre for commerce, education and transportation.

The city grew significantly during the nineteenth century when railway connections linked Montréal with northern Quebec. These transportation routes helped establish Saint-Jérôme as an important commercial hub supporting communities throughout the Laurentides region.

Today Saint-Jérôme continues to expand with residential neighbourhoods, cultural institutions and regional services. The city also marks the southern entrance to popular outdoor destinations in the Laurentian Mountains.
